Ain't It Great To Be Crazy??

Here I am again...posting after at least a week.. sorry. I have nothing to post about I guess. If I did write anything...it probably would be gibberish. I am currently having my thyroid medication adjusted. I also think my endochronologist is trying to kill me. He has cut my dose in half in the last 6 months. Now for all you who don't know what I am talking about....I would tell you but I don't think anyone would understand...LOL! Let me start at the beginning......

OK..as you all should know by now...8 yrs ago I had thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed. I have to take medication so that I am a functioning adult... WELL...long story short...my regular Dr. has been handling my meds for the last 7 yrs or so and she had me on way too much..I knew it was too much because I was having symptoms of being over medicated. So I went to a specialist and he started decreasing it. I felt really great after about the second dosage change. I told him..Hey I feel Great! he says ..we have to see how low we can take it. OK...now...My TSH which is a Thyroid blood test SHOULD be almost undetectable..as a post THy-Ca survivor. He has mine in the normal range now. I feel like a pile of poop. I am started to slur..I am not able to think clearly...I am cold...all classic symptoms of being off of my meds ( I used to have to do this for a thyroid scan) I know I am not making sense...bear with me though..LOL! I need to be almost undetectable because...if I have any thyroid tissue at all remaining and it "feels" like I am not getting enough through meds..it will start functioning...and then if there is 1 Cancer cell in there...BOOM! I can have a relapse. There is no 5 yr cure rate for thy-ca...it can come back at any time.

Anyway...if I have seemed a little weird lately....its my meds...honest!!!

Other than that...my life is the same old same old....

Jimmy(my son) is getting ready to test for his Black Belt! I am sooo proud of him! Jennifer(my daughter) just got some results back from a math test she took at the beginning of the year that determined if she can do 9th grade algebra next year (she will be in 8th grade) She got a 92..the highest out of all the advanced placement kids. She had to get a 75 or better. She is such a good girl! I have been blessed with great kids! What can I say? LOL!

I am glad to hear that a good friend of mine has gotten a big mess he was involved in all cleared up...it takes awhile..but eventually people will see the light...ass-clowns and all...LOL!

OK..Peace Out My friends..... :)

I'm a Joe girl, too!

Wow, dealing with thyroid problems is no stranger....my mom was on thyroid medication for years, until right before her hip replacement surgery in 1998. To make a long story short, our doctor took her off her thyroid med because she also has tachycardia, which is something she's had all of her life. Once the medication started leaving her body, she's gone downhill since then, and we can't seem to convince our Dr. she needs them back.

It's amazing how much one little thyroid can do to a body.

Kim..they probably took her off of her Thyroid meds because they thought it was causing the tachycardia. She probably should have just had her dose lowered. I feel for her..I know how crappy you can feel. Dr's should listen to us more often...sometimes we do know what we are talking about. ;)
